Recycling Information: 2nd Saturday of the Month 9am-1pm

Save the Date!  September Recycling Drive is coming up!
 
The next Laingsburg area recycling drive is scheduled for Saturday, September 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the usual location on Roosevelt Row downtown.

As usual we accept: cardboard and boxboard (but not refrigerated/freezer or juice boxes); scrap metals; mixed office paper, junk mail, & magazines; newspaper and phone books; and household batteries (please separate into alkaline, lithium and rechargeable). We’ve also added empty inkjets from Canon, Brother and HP to the list. Sadly, we can’t accept glass right now.  Please see attached Recycling Guide for more information.

Fall area recycling events to check out:
 
Regional Electronics Recycling Day: open to all, will be held Saturday, Sept. 18, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Chippewa Middle School, 4000 Okemos Road. Accepted Items: TVs, computers, monitors, printers, cords, cables, phones, VCRs, stereo equipment, typewriters and more. TVs & monitors require a $20 donation each (cash or check payable to Meridian Township); prepay at meridian.mi.us/recycle. Items not accepted include batteries, smoke detectors, lighting, plastic vacuum cleaners, coffee makers, toasters, air conditioners, dehumidifiers & other large household appliances. Scrap Tire Collection being held Sept. 25 in St. Johns, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (only residents of Clinton County) To participate, an appointment is required and must be made no later than one week before the event. Residents are limited to 10 tires per appointment and two appointments per household. Participants must remain in their vehicles at all times. Please note: They cannot accept any tire over 24-inch rim in size, and NO business or agricultural tires are allowed due to grant restrictions.
 
A Free for Fall event for household hazardous waste and electronics only will be held in October; details will be forthcoming.
